At HSLU, international students will receive a physical student card at the time of their arrival directly from their Student Services Coordinator or from their Exchange Program Coordinator/International Office. In addition, all students need to create their digital ID card through the following web portal. You'll find further instructions here. The digital ID can be generated as a QR code or saved to the Apple Wallet (iOS) or Google Wallet (Android) by tapping the wallet icon. The QR code can be scanned with the camera of a smartphone. Alternatively, there is a PDF version available for download.
While the physical student card will still be required to access HSLU premises and print/scanner services, the digital ID is a means of personal identification for e.g., exams or student discounts, it contains the library card (bar code) and acts as an ID for University Sports.
You can add money to your physical student card at the loader machines in the school buildings to use it for printing and scanning.
More information are available on this news website on My Campus.
Each department has its own library, some with workstations. Find out here about the locations and opening hours.
University Sports Campus Lucerne (HSCL) offers versatile sports and training opportunities. Numerous courses, training camps and events are offered to all students at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Most of the courses are for free.
Their website is mostly in German. Please ask your buddy or your Exchange Program Coordinator if you need help. Of course you can also ask your question in the Get Started in Lucerne - Workshops.
The Schools’ language center offers many different language courses. All courses are for free. If you would like to take one, please check with your home university whether they acknowledge the credits or not.
During the introductory weeks there are also language courses for German and English. Find out more about registration here.
The School’s IT Service Desk is happy to help you with technical problems.
Students can insert their student card into the card readers on photocopiers and printers. Providing that sufficient funds are available on the card, the requested number of copies will then be produced. The amount is deducted directly from the card. See above in the section "Student Card" how to charge money on your HSLU student card.
